About the Job
Retail Media Specialist (Amazon, Walmart, Google Ads)

Continental Marketing, Inc. (CMI) is an agency that helps manufacturers get product onto the shelves of big-box retailers such as Costco and Kroger. Internally, we also manage their ecommerce operations on Amazon, Walmart, and at times their own D2C. Managing their advertising is part of that responsibility. We are hiring a Retail Media Specialist to own day-to-day paid advertising across a portfolio of client accounts, with a primary focus on Amazon Ads and Walmart Connect, plus supporting work in Google Ads.

This is a hands-on, in-platform role. You will build, optimize, and report on the campaigns that drive profitable revenue growth for our clients. Our account and ecommerce teams own client relationships, catalog, and retail strategy. You own the advertising engine behind that growth: campaign architecture, bidding, optimization, and the reporting that proves it worked. The right person is equal parts operator and analyst, someone who can structure a clean campaign, read the numbers daily, and make the call on what to change.

At CMI we manage advertising to profit, not just to ROAS. You will work in contribution margin and connect ad spend to each client's full P&L. If you want to go deep on retail media with a team that treats it as a craft, this is the seat.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Campaign Strategy & Execution:
  • Own the build, structure, and daily management of paid campaigns across Amazon Ads (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display), Walmart Connect, and supporting Google Ads (Shopping, Performance Max, Search) for assigned clients.
  • Develop campaign structures per client that balance growth, profitability, and brand defense.
  • Manage keywords, targeting, bids, placements, budgets, and dayparting to hit each client's revenue and efficiency goals.
  • Plan and execute advertising around product launches, promotions, Prime Day, and other key retail events.
Optimization & Performance:
  • Monitor performance daily and make data-driven adjustments to bids, budgets, targeting, and creative rotation.
  • Manage pacing so spend tracks to budget and aligns with revenue, margin, and inventory position.
  • Drive continuous improvement in ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, and overall return across accounts.
  • Run structured tests across targeting, placements, creative, and bidding strategy, and scale what works
Reporting & Analysis:
  • Produce clear, accurate performance reporting and turn the data into specific, actionable recommendations.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting views in advertising and analytics platforms.
  • Tie advertising performance to client business outcomes: revenue, margin, share, and inventory health.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and pacing for advertising investment.
Operations & Quality:
  • Maintain campaign naming conventions, launch checklists, and repeatable processes that protect speed and accuracy across a multi-client workload.
  • QA campaign setup, ASIN and product mapping, and promo alignment before launch to catch errors early.
  • Flag data discrepancies and setup issues before they affect spend, performance, or client deliverables.
Collaboration:
  • Partner with account managers and the ecommerce team to align advertising with broader account strategy.
  • Coordinate with platform representatives (Amazon, Walmart, Google) and SaaS vendors as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on paid media experience, including direct, in-platform Amazon Ads campaign management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing retail media or paid search across more than one platform.
  • Strong command of retail media metrics (ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, CPC) and how they connect to client profitability, margin, and inventory.
  • Proven skill in campaign optimization, bid management, and keyword and targeting strategy.
  • Strong Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines at once.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain performance to non-marketing stakeholders.
A Plus:
  • Walmart Connect and Google Ads (Shopping, PMax, Search) experience.
  • Hands-on experience with retail media management platforms such as Pacvue, Teikametrics, Skai, or Xnurta.
  • Experience with analytics and reporting tools such as MerchantSpring, Power BI, or comparable.
  • Agency or multi-brand background.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central and Vendor Central (1P and 3P), and Amazon.
DSP:
  • Understanding of how advertising interacts with organic rank, retail readiness, and the broader marketplace flywheel.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE (first 6 to 12 months):
  • Client campaigns are well structured, consistently optimized, and pacing cleanly to budget.
  • Reporting is clean, on time, and trusted by account teams and clients.
  • Measurable improvement in efficiency (TACOS and ACOS) without sacrificing growth on managed accounts.
  • Repeatable build and QA processes are in place so launches are fast and error-free.
  • You are the person the team trusts to own advertising performance end-to-end.
